An aged man was too weak to cultivate his farmland during a certain rainy season. So he called his son on phone and said to him;
"My dear son, I'm too old now and I cannot cultivate my farm this year. How I wish you were home. You would have lessened the burden".
When the son heard this, he was touched by his father's grief so he wrote back to him saying,
"I've heard you dad but I think you shouldn't mind cultivating this year. Before I departed home, I hid some money inside that big farm but I don't know the exact spot again. I want you to get that money and use it to procure your needs till I come back. To locate the money easily, take big buckets of maize, rice, beans, millet and other grains that you can afford and spray them all over the farmland. Then dig the ground until you find the money. It's very large indeed to sustain 100 people for over 100 years".
When the father saw this letter, he became more disappointed because finding the money was a very tedious task. So he kept the letter on his table and slept off. Later, Akpos a stranger, came into the house read the letter and was overjoyed. He quickly went to the market, bought buckets of numerous grains, sprayed them all over the supposed farmland and dug and dug and dug the whole place but he saw nothing at the end of the day. So he went home disappointed. Three weeks later, the grains started growing on the farmland and the aged father was suprised because he was sure that neither him nor his son cultivated the land. So he called his son back and told him what happened. Then the son replied him saying;
"Dad, you always taught me to be a wise boy. Yes, I truely sent you that letter but it was actually meant for a GREEDY man out there. Finally, your land has been cultivated for you free of charge and without causing you any stress too. That's the extent I can go for now to help you dad. Enjoy yourself !"
On realising this, the old man was so happy with his wise son. This was how the greedy Akpos laboured himself in vain. Lol !!!
