On every second market day in their village, Abel and his Kinsmen always gathered for a meeting to discuss about their welfare. During such occasions, each of the kinsmen must come with a keg of palmwine which will be poured into a "common keg" from where everyone will drink finally at the end of the meeting. On a fateful day for the usual meeting, Abel felt too selfish to come along with a keg of palmwine. Rather, he filled his keg to the brim with water, attended the meeting and emptied it into the common keg where everyone was supposed to pour in their palmwine. Other elders brought their's too and poured them into the common keg. At the end of the day's meeting, the palmwine was shared to all the kinsmen. Lo and behold, it was purely water with no taste of palmwine. Each of the elders all came with water in their kegs with the intention of out-smarting the rest. Abel was totally amazed because his plan could not push through. They all ended up deceiving themselves. If they were so selfish like this then, what is the need of their coming together to discuss about their WELFARE ?
LESSON: What you know, somebody else already knows it. Selfish minds can never succeed. Their plans always backfires at the them. Let us be good and so that the world will be a better place for everybody.
